Location Rating: T-A-2

One contributor says expect 12-15 BNSF trains a day by this facility. 35 daily is more accurate as an average. Another contributor says this was a former Best Western Motel. It never was, it was formerly a privately owned facility called the Northern Motor Inn. (Just for accuracy.)

Fall/spring AM light is killer for eastbounds. 12-15 BNSF trains daily plus Amtrak (1 each direction). A great place to stay while railfanning the east side of Marias Pass. Pizza Hut next door with a view of the tracks, too.

As the previous rater indicated, the top two floors have an excellent view of the famous Cut Bank trestle, and trains are quite frequent. I was in room 317, which is near the north end and, I think, is the best view except for 319, which is next door. These are non-smoking rooms; I think that there are smoking rooms ont he second floor. There are talking detectors within scanner range both east and west of town, so you're never surprised by a train so long as you keep your scanner on.

This location ia a former Best Western as indicated by a previous listing. East facing rooms have a great view of the tressle over Cut Bank Creek. Especially those towards the rear of the facility. Within a short walk to the right of way. West bound trains can be seen for miles before they hit the bridge. A decent facility about 50 miles from Glacier, offers a continental breakfast, hot tub, pool. Reasonable priced even for tourist season.

Situated on top of a hill overlooking spectacular BNSF Cut Bank Creek bridge. Half of the rooms in the motel (the west-facing rooms) look directly out on the bridge, offering an excellent view, but only from 2nd and 3rd floors as the ground floor view is partly obscured by bushes.
