Rail line is really too far to see much; almost looks like an N scale model train on a distant shelf. But you can walk to a trackside view (as you can with all Cave City lodging); there's a par-3 golf course directly adjacent to the track.

There's not much else to do in Cave City other than visit Mammoth Cave, see tacky tourist-trap attractions (though a theme park is being built there) and watch trains. In the downtown area, you can sit in the small city park directly by the tracks and watch CSX trains as long as you want.

This motel really doesn't have a very good trackside view, as several businesses block the view of the CSX (ex-L&N) main line. All of these motels are clean and well-maintained, especially the Quality which was remodeled after changing over from Holiday Inn Express.
