This property was a former Ramada Inn (originally Holiday Inn), in 2005 it became a Best Value Inn. The hotel overlooks the busy BNSF former Santa Fe mainline. The former Amtrak station that was once outside the hotel has been raised. As sad as the missing Santa Fe station may be, it dose improve the view of train's from the hotel. The 7-story hotel has the best views of the railroad from the 4th floor up, the higher the better. Below the 4th floor, some trees may block your view. There is plenty of warning of approaching train's as they blow their horn's completely through town. Bring your earplugs if that bothers you, if your looking for a good nights sleep. Each room dose have a balcony with a sliding door. Its a great place to watch trains day and night!

The Ramada Inn in Galesburg, IL has an excellent view of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (former ATSF) mainline. This is a 7 story hotel, ask for a room on the east side, the higher up, the better the view. Outside the hotel is the former Amtrak station (ATSF), its now used by BNSF MoW crews. Within walking distance from the hotel is BNSF's (former BN) mainline. Its a busy town......train wise!
