On April 10, 2005 my wife and I stayed in room 203 at the Best Western Desert Inn. This room has an excellent view across the highway of all passing trains and also some of the yard activity. No grade crossing too close so it's not as loud as some other motels. The young man at the desk didn't know if the room had a window but was kind enough to give us a key so we could inspect the room first. Cost of the room was $79 ($69 for AAA). Continental breakfast served. This room is very close to the highway so passing trucks may be a bother to some although they didn't bother us at all.

The Motel has a sign on the front check in desk warning people about the noisy trains. It is best to get a room on the second floor, so you can get a better view. The room and bathrooms are kept very clean.

Situated just across US 58 from the tracks with a grade crossing immediately opposite, excellent for railfanning but no good if you want a good nights sleep (unless you have earplugs).
